Really in your space, you are better with the extra counter space. If your bay window is deeper than I think it is and you're vertically challenged like me ;-) you may need to try a set-up more like this one: Traditional Kitchen I hope we're working towards a feasible solution. The kitchen is also close to a half-bath which is on the opposite side of the house from the stairs. taking down the wall completely or half way between the dining room and kitchen. 2. Floating a couch near an entryway, if a room is big enough creates a "hall/foyer" effect, so that you're not just jumping right into the living room. Undo leelee I like the mantel but it could "handle" another larger picture slipped in behind the others.
